WrestleFIGHT Maiden Melee - Night 2 - July 2nd, 2016 - Cleveland, OH
For
the second night in a row Our Lady of Mount Carmel is packed with rabid
wrestling fans. As usual ring announcer Pedro Deluca is in the ring. He
informs the fans that once again all matches tonight have a thirty
minute time limit and that the Six Way Scramble, and all future WF Six
Way Scrambles, is an anything goes match. He then begins his famous
countdown, which can only means the action is about to get underway!

1. Alexander Trial Series - Fight 2: Josh Alexander vs WIlliam Regal
William
Regal keeps the match contested mainly on the mat, using his veteran
wiles to control the action. Josh Alexander acquits himself well keeping
pace with Regal. Eventually Josh is able to hit a TKO outta nowhere and
lock an armbar on a stunned Regal getting the submission win.
Winner - Josh Alexander 16:49
2. Six Way Scramble Match: TJP vs Sami Zayn vs Pentagon Jr. vs Jeff Hardy vs Barbaro Cavernario vs Austin Aries
The
action in this match is too insane and fast paced to adequately
describe in writing. The early action spills to the outside. TJP and
Sami hit a couple of dives to the opponents on the floor. Eventually
Jeff Hardy and Pentagon are alone in the ring. Jeff goes to the top for
the Swanton Bomb, when Matt Hardy run out and hits his own brother
repeatedly with a steel chair. Pentagon rolls into the ring pushes Aries
out of the way and Hits the Package Piledriver on Jeff for the win.
Matt continues his assault until being pulled off by and combination of
security and the other competitors.

3. WF Tag Series Round Two: The Briscoes vs American Alpha
After
a brief feeling out process these teams lay into each other. Rough mat
work from Gable and Jordan and high impact moves from Jay and Mark.
Neither team has the advantage for long. Eventually both teams are
feeling exhausted from the grueling battle. The Briscoes neutralize Jordan and get Gable
up for the Doomsday Device. As Mark is springboarding off the ropes the
bell rings. The time has expired and this match is a ruled a draw. Both
teams shake hands and walk to the back confused what this means for the
tournament.
Winners - Time Limit Draw 30:00
4. Timothy Thatcher vs Roderick Strong
This is a hard hitting grappling match from the get go. In the end Strong shouldn’t have played into Thatchers hand and kept the match so mat-centric as Thatcher controls the majority of the contest. Thatcher locks on the Thatcher Stretch and gets the tap out.
Winner - Timothy Thatcher 7:35
5. The Forgotten(Steve Corino and Jimmy Jacobs) vs Catch Point(Drew Gulak and Tracy Williams)
After
Catch Point enters the ring they are jumped from behind by all three
members of The Forgotten. After a beat down the bell rings and the match
begins. Corino and Jacobs cut of Catch Point every time they mount any
offense with cheap shot and illegal tactics. Despite this Gulak regains
advantage and locks on a Dragon Sleeper. Eddie Kingston then runs in to
break up the hold. The referee has seen enough and disqualifies The
Forgotten.
Winners - Catch Point by DQ - 9:57
The
forgotten ignore the ending of the match and continue the assault. It
doesn’t last long though as the 3rd member of Catch Point, TJP, is out
for the save. After some jawing back and forth we have an impromptu six
man..
6. The Forgotten(Steve Corino, Jimmy Jacobs and Eddie Kingston) vs Catch Point(Tracy Williams, Drew Gulak and TJP)
This
match picks up right where the last left off. Catch point gets the
advantage with superior wrestling skills only for The Forgotten to take
back over with cheap shots and roughneck tactics. Eventually Eddie
Kingston is alone in the ring with TJP. He follows up a low blow with a
spinning backfist and gets the pinfall victory.
Winners - The Forgotten 20:24
Kingston
continues his attack on TJP. Before long though John Cena runs out from
the back with a kendo stick and takes Kingston out. The rest of The
Forgotten try to assist but are cut off by Catch Point. Cena chases
Kingston to the back. Beating him with the kendo stick the whole way.
7. Fit Finlay vs LA Park
This
is the rough and tumble brawl you would hope for. Lots of crowd
brawling and stiff shots traded between both men. LA Park eventually
hits a piledriver for the clean victory in the center of the ring.
Winner - LA Park 15:46
Before
the main event Pedro Deluca has a huge announcement regarding the WF
Tag Series. The main event has been changed to a no time limit match to
prevent another draw and it's been decided the winner of the next match
will face both American Alpha and The Briscoes in a Tag Team Triple
Threat Match with no time limit in the final of the WF tag Series for
the WF Tag Team Championship.
8. WF Tag Series Round Two: Negro Casas and Rey Mysterio vs TAKA Michinoku and The Great Sasuke
These
four competitors are four of the most experienced wrestlers in
WrestleFIGHT and it shows in this match. It's a brilliant display of
technical wrestling and high flying moves. TAKA and Sasuke are clearly
taking advantage of the lack of time limit and wearing down their
opponents. In the end Sasuke hits a senton from the top rope onto Casas
for the win and a spot in the finals.
Winners - TAKA Michinoku and The Great Sasuke 52:13
